Skin-type based skincare with Nuances
Partager
Did you know there are different products based on your skin-type? It's important to know your skin-type when selecting your products so that your skincare doesn't damage your skin barrier! Let's start with the basics.
Skin-types:
There are five basic skin-types; normal, dry, oily, combination (both dry and oily) and sensitive.
It's important to know your skin-type to best find the products that suit you! There are many quizzes available or you can visit a pharmacy or makeup store if you're unsure.
Once you've identified your skin-type, you can start putting together your skincare routine!
Cleanser:
Some cleansers can be very rough on your skin, which is why knowing if you have sensitive skin is key! Cleanser is the first step in your skincare routine that removes dirt, dead skin cells, and other unwanted debris that can surface during a regular day.
Knowing what's in your cleanser is another necessity when choosing your products. There so many harmful ingredients that you should not be using on your skin! Stay clear of any parabens, phthalates, aluminium and any synthetic fragrances. The list goes on and this goes for any skincare product, not only cleansers!
Toners:
Toners are a great addition to a skincare routine!
The goal of a toner is to balance and restore hydration after cleansing your skin. Especially if you have dryer skin, they add a nice hit of needed moisture, just make sure you get alcohol-free toners!
Serums:
There are different serums based on your needs and of course, your skin-type! Some brighten your skin and provide extra hydration, while others may remove blemishes. It's a great step before applying your skin cream and helps to lock in moisture!
What about ingredients per skin-type?
There's so much information out there that it can get really confusing - but we got you!
If you have normal skin it will love these ingredients: green tea to hydrate and balance oil, aloe to add extra hydration (also great for sensitive skin!) and of course, Hyaluronic Acid is a great go-to for any skin type. Other great like Niacinamide, used for sun spots or any discolouration, vitamin C, to stimulate collagen and caffeine, to brighten skin are great for normal skin-types!
If your skin is on the dryer side, it needs hydrating, antioxidant-rich ingredients like strawberry, kiwi, and blueberry.
If you have oily skin, acid is needed to break down the the oil and remove the dirt off your skin. Light oils with low comedogenic ratings are your best option! Look for grapeseed and babassu oil. Any citrus ingredients are a huge plus for your skin as well as glycerin to retain water and leave your skin more moisturized!
For combination skin, which usually means an oily t-zone and a dry c-zone, look for products with Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid (great for any skin-type!), and Salicylic Acid. Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin B5 are other great ingredients to bring balance back into your skin.
And if you have sensitive skin, you probably have a poor tolerance to many elements like fragrances and dyes. This means you need to calm your skin with lavender and chamomile. Ingredients such as green tea, calendula and of course aloe vera are great for your skin! Keep it simple and avoid the harsh products.
The most important things with your skincare is to ensure you know your skin-type and that you're using only the best products for your skin. Stay clear from any strong alcohol products, and keep your skincare clean, simple and with whole ingredients. Revamping your skincare routine may be what you need to achieve all your skin goals!

Since we use plant-based ingredients, our products are suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. However, when you see the word “hydrating” or “moisturizing” the product is especially targeting dry skin. Please see our product descriptions for more details! Thanks.
I didnt notice any indications on your products regarding what skin type they are geared towards. I’m interested to know what skin type they most benefit. Thank you.
